The Rating Field Inspector (RFI) Course provides learners with the foundational knowledge and practical skills required to perform residential energy rating field inspections in accordance with industry standards and best practices. Designed for online delivery, this comprehensive course combines building science principles, inspection protocols, and documentation requirements to prepare participants for the responsibilities of a Rating Field Inspector.
The course is organized into four core modules that guide learners from fundamental building science concepts through the inspection and verification of residential building components and systems. Participants will explore how homes function as integrated systems, evaluate energy-related building features, and understand the standards and procedures used to support accurate residential energy ratings.
- Module 1: Introduction to Building Science
- Module 2: Understanding Building Science
- Module 3: Building Components
- Module 4: Onsite Inspection Protocols
The cost of this course includes interactive virtual learning modules, knowledge checkpoints throughout the course, comprehensive cumulative assessment, RESNET practical simulation exam key, one proctored examination session, and one retest proctoring session (if required).*
*Any additional retest proctoring sessions will be billed separately at $100 each.
